Manage hostname billing and change a tier

By OptinStack Team - Jun 28, 2026 - 2 min read

Every account can use Free on each eligible hostname by default. Pro and Business subscriptions each attach to one registered hostname. Webflow, Framer, and custom sites use the same tier rules.

Register and assign a hostname

For custom sites, enter the public hostname visitors use. Webflow and Framer can begin on a development hostname registered through the connected app. If the site runs behind a reverse proxy, edge worker, CDN, or platform mapping, register the public hostname rather than the private origin.

Custom hostnames must be verified before Free assignment or checkout. Authenticated Webflow and Framer development hostnames do not require DNS verification. Registration alone remains inactive until the hostname receives Free, paid, Enterprise, or Workspace coverage.

Each hostname has its own assignment and billing state. example.com, www.example.com, app.example.com, and uk.example.com are separate hostnames. Path segments such as example.com/en are not separate hostnames.

Change a tier

Assign Free or choose a paid tier from Pricing or Billing. Custom targets require verification; registered builder development hostnames can be assigned directly. Upgrades take effect after successful payment, while downgrades are scheduled for renewal.

Cancel billing

Cancel from the Billing settings for the hostname. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period. Paid features remain available until that date, then custom-domain production activation expires unless the hostname is covered by Workspace or another active entitlement.

Archiving a site stops the consent banner and makes the dashboard read-only, but active paid subscriptions continue until you cancel them in Billing.
